12 Favorite Things

Here are my 12 favorite things............ They aren't rain drops on roses and whiskers on kittens, but all of these things make me smile when I am having a bad day!

 Da da da da.....Circus Afro.......Circus Afro- this came with her favorite movie and she wears it all the time.

 My camera and my quilts a bit of both rolled into one.

 Piggy Tales-  Wild Piggy Tales!

 Books being read my a 3 year old to a 4 month old- quite the stories.

 Little Feet- I love little feet I am always taking pictures of their toes.

 Peaceful snow- a blizzard, just wonderful snow!

 Excersaucers - I don't know how to spell that, but it is the best thing ever invented for infants!

 Birthdays- I love getting together with family to celebrate birthdays.

 Christmas Bokah- I love bokah, but Christmas Bokah is my favorite.

 Fall- Its my favorite season because of the colors and leaves and wonderful temps.

 Sleeping babies- there is nothing more peaceful than a sleeping baby, I could watch my daughters sleep all day long.

Summer Swings- My girls love to swing especially this one, she was just 7 months old in this picture and she could swing for hours- things have not changed!

Which is my favorite picture?  That one is hard to choose- I love them all that is why I picked them, some of them I took just for this blog post, some of them I pulled out of my archive because I love them.  I love the wild pigtales because of the way I processed the photo and the sleeping baby, because of the simplicity of it, only one action was run on that photo. 

What did I enjoy about this project, doing it with my class and editing photos!  I love to process my photos almost as much as I love taking them!

2 months

My youngest turned two months old 2 weeks ago, so here are a few photos I took.

I'm back....with a budding photographer!

Its been a while, a long while!!!  I started out the year doing 365 days of art.........mid June mommy mode kicked in and I was unable to create my art, I think about it everyday, and everyday I take a photo are do something artsy, I just haven't posted it.  I miss it................I love creating art, even if its just a small piece or an example for art class!  Creating art is very addicting, and you crave it when its gone!

In two weeks I go back to work, no more maternity leave.  I am excited!  Excited to try new things with my students, excited to see how the devolope as artists, excited to create art with them!  They loved it last year when I worked with them!!!  They got to see my successes and failures......they saw how I problem solved and my creative process, which I believe is important to everyone...not just artists!!!

So, I will be blogging more, posting my art, not counting anymore......next January 1st I will, I don't plan on having a baby in 2013 so I won't have that excuse...although I do want to go on an Alaskan cruise again, but this time add a land tour!  But, I won't have to worry about not creating art on that trip....last time I took about 1000 pictures!!!

A little update!

No, I haven't stopped doing art everyday....although I have been slacking a bit.....the reason, the baby hasn't been cooperating as of late.....he/she/it was transverse (sideways) a week ago Friday and so I had to schedule an appointment to get it turned at Mayo.  So, Tuesday the baby was no longer transverse...just breach, so he/she/it got turned, but mommy didn't handle the turning as well as the baby did, so I had to stay the night.  So, I do have art done, lots of wonderful pics of Monkey and so more jewelry!  I used my metal  stamps!!!  I will hopefully get to it today or tomorrow while Monkey takes a nap...if she naps!

Day 155

Today was a jewelry day! Here is a leather cuff with an instagram photo!  I am also doing some other jewelry things with leather......but not sure they are going to turn out!!!

365 day 154

I love pinterest, I love to be inspired, I love to figure out how to incorporate new social media into my classroom, as long as it doesn't get blocked by the SONIC WALL!  I am going to start reorganizing my pins so they are more classroom friendly, so I can send my advanced kids there to be inspired.  (Why I am rambling I do not know, but there is my teacher talk for the day)

So today's art was inspired by a pin on pinterest, but not completely.  I love to do digital art, especially if I can frame it and put in my Monkey's room, so here you have it....Sugar and Spice n everything nice!  Although Monkey is a bit more spice than sugar!!!!

365 Days 149-153

I felt like doing a little minimalist project on Thursday- it reminded me of the color studies we had to do in college in our intro art class that all art majors had to take.  At the time we dreaded them, now I have fun doing them and using them as examples in classes.

I also had to do a teacher poster...I haven't done one in a while.

Shine is going in Monkey's room- it turned out really cute- I think I will do some more and create a series.

Monkey just had to help daddy wash the caddy on Sunday!  She thought it was fun!!!

Monday's is going in the living room- after June- when I can add another letter to it!

We will see what today holds- hmmmmmmmmm what do I want to create today??????

Lots of 365

Here is a post of some of my 365, I had to sort through my head on which was which!  Kind of crazy, my first full week of summer break and it was FULL, Dennis was home so we did things with and for him!  Lots of running around, but hey I did get a new vinyl cutting machine!  FUN!  This is through Wednesday!
