3 Days of Art

So I have been thinking about the art that I will enter into the hospital art contest.  There is a contest each year and all of my classes enter something and we pick two from the high school, two from the jh, two from elementary and two from the community.  I haven't entered before, but since I am doing 365 days of art I thought I would enter something fun and exciting.  I just don't know what that will be!  I was thinking one of these!!!

365 day 115

Today I created a photo collage things.....I really don't know what it is technically called......I took 3 photos collage them together in photoshop and than folded them so from each direction you see a different photo.  My students LOVED it, I think we will have to do this in Digital Camera class.  Here is the beginning image followed by a pic from each direction....although it does look alot better in person!

365- Day 114

Sayings- the catchy sayings we all have heard- "There's no I in Team, but there is in WIN!!!"  That was one of my favorites when I coached.  "Be smART take ART!"  You know we all use them!!!  Well on pinterest I found an artsy quote, but I just had to put my own graphic design spin on it.  So here it is, its not the best piece of art I have done, but its fun!!!  Since I have put it up not only have I had lots of students comment but staff as well. (Its hanging outside my art room for everyone to see when they walk in!)

365 Day 111-113

Metal- alcohol inks- its Wednesday and I still have pink and dark blue hands!  I created a leaf collage with metal tape and alcohol inks, a Pop can bracelet (no pic yet) and last but not least a alcohol ink tile with the stamp over top of it.  I gave the tile to a good friend of mine who took prom pics for me on Saturday while we spent the day looking at playhouses in the rain!  Its amazing how many sizes and styles they have! 

365-Day 109 and 110

My rock drawing FINALLY dried!!!  Yeah- it was a bit wet on the edges where it had pooled, but it cut out nicely.  The glue really didn't do what I wanted it to, but I am sure if I scratched and inked it would!!!

We also created zentangle shadow boxes using old slides I had laying around.  They are turning out out great!  They don't photograph well, you really can't see the zentangle layer behind.  I will put a tutorial on my CHS Art Room Blog in the next couple days.  Check my Pinterest Boards.

365- Day 108

Day 108- I started out creating a piece on collaged newspaper with oil pastel and ink wash.  Than I thought I wonder what would happen if I put a THICK layer or glue all over it...........I still don't know because its not dry!  So luckly I also took some pictures of stacked rocks for a back up.  I used the poloroid image transfer action from Rita at the Coffeeshop Blog because we are using it in Digital Camera on our old thing photos.

A little bit of this, a little bit of that- 365 days of Art

Lots of art to blog about.  Dennis got his wisdom teeth out this weekend, and I still found time to create art, while both he and Monkey slept!  Fun!  My favorite piece is the last one I created today out of old slides I have in a box in my office.  I grabed two out and one was the Birth of Venus...one of my favorite pieces.  So I created a mini shadow box!

Day 103- Zentangle Trees on a bubble background.   Monkey liked the bubbles, until she sucked it up the straw.

 Day 105- New app on  the ipad- something spiral- a bit hard to control the free app, but I like it!!!

 Day 106- Geometric Silhouette with a magazine background- Drawing I's new assignment.

Day 107- My favorite- Slide Shadow box, Ode to Venus!!!!

365- Day 102

Whenever I do a project or test a project out I wonder if it can be done digitally in my photoshop class.  So, when I created the girafee silhouette I decided to do a lizard in photoshop.  I downloaded some spiralgraph (remember playing with those when we were young!!!!!) brushes and created this black and white lizard.

365- Day 101

Triple digits!!  I love it!  So I have been downloading apps for drawing on my IPAD and testing them out.  I have recently downloaded 53, which has sketchbooks that you can organize, which I really like.  I also like the stroke you get with the pen.  I don't like the fact you have to buy other tools (only 1 is free without the option of buying a "full version" each tool is $2.  I don't love the interface, how to undo etc, its just ok.  But overall its a nice app.

365-Day 100

Celebrate good times come on!!!!!  Day 100- 100 days of art!  That seems crazy- what is even crazier is the fact I am only 1/3 of the way to the "end".   What's even stranger is that I have done 100 pieces of art and sometimes its like pulling teeth to get students to create 1 piece of art.   Things that make you go hmmmmmmmmmm........ 

So, today I decided to kick it into gear and finish my 24x24 piece of art of Monkey.  I did it along with my class, I have updates on my classroom blog if you want to check it out.  www.chsartroomblogspot.com  My students got to see my art transform along with theirs, I also voiced my opinion that I did not like it to begin with, but now I really like it, that is way I tell them on a daily basis.....you aren't far enough to not like it!!!!

365-Count down to Day 100

So here are days 95-99.  I was going to catch up on blogging yesterday, but I had to run to Rochester to check out a playhouse for Monkey!  It was very artsy, but I couldn't stand up in it so that was out!  I have quite the variety of projects today.  Hope you like them!

Day 94

Today I experiamented with instagram actions that I downloaded for Digital Camera class.  The one on this photo I decided on to use in class, but it was fun doing it all the same.  Monkey is learning to use "silly" scissors- she got extremely excited when she actually cut something!!!

A Whole Lot of Days!

Friday to Tuesday- what did I do.....yep ART! 

Friday- I worked on rattles for the my drape pot........these look soooooooo much better fired with glaze!

Saturday- Book flower design- can't wait to make more of these and put them all together.

Sunday- More book flower designs- this time I tried it with "heart" leaves- hearts folded in half.

Monday- Plastic Wrap paper- which is now cut up and waiting for step two- I just don't know what that is going to be yet!

Tuesday- Finished my large 24x24 drawing of Monkey- my Drawing I kids are working on this right now and I thought I would do it with them because I thought it was a great assignment!!!!

365-Day 88

So I used glue as a resist today......not loving it......but it worked..........
